The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival traditionally runs July and August each year with additional events scheduled Saturdays through mid-September. Most employment opportunities are available during the actual run of the Festival. However, some positions may offer pre/post run opportunities. These additional work opportunities are generally “on-call” and may be offered to employees as they are hired. Additional opportunities may involve set up the venue during the months of late May through the end of June, post-Festival event assistance and end-of-season venue strike.

2020 Production Positions

Great Lakes Theater (GLT) is seeking applicants for an experienced Properties Artisan. This unique position offers a theater artist the opportunity for year-round work with GLT and its partner theaters, Idaho Shakespeare Festival (ISF) and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival (LTSF). Applications will be accepted from qualified candidates interested in full-time, year-round employment.  This position will collaborate with another fulltime props artisan and an artistic team of professional directors and designers along with production staff to assist in creating and procuring all furniture, props, and set dressing for each production.  Candidates should possess skills in theatrical building techniques, furniture construction, sewing, upholstery, painting and specialty props fabrication.  Experience with Photoshop and other design programs a plus. Candidates should have strong organizational and time management skills, be able to communicate effectively across all departments, and thrive in an active, fast-paced environment.  Ideal candidates will have at least two years of experience as a Properties Artisan or Assistant at a regional theater.  Contract offer dependent upon skills and experience – to be negotiated.  Great Lakes Theater is an equal opportunity employer.  Cover letter and resume with references should be submitted to Jeff Herrmann, Production Manager, via email

In 2002, Great Lakes Theater (Cleveland, Ohio) and Idaho Shakespeare Festival (Boise, Idaho) conceived a unique, strategic producing alliance designed to maximize return on organizational investments, increase production efficiencies, and create long term work opportunities for artists.  Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival (Incline Village, Nevada) joined the collaboration in 2010 – further contributing to the momentum of the prototype’s success. The alliance’s three independent, 501c3 regional theaters have shared 50 jointly-created productions. Ticket Sales Associate – Days (9am to 6pm or 11am to 8pm)
The Ticket Sales Associate works as a member of the ticket sales / box office team to sell tickets via telephone and walk up window in the LTSF administrative offices and the Sand Harbor Box Office. Accurately and efficiently sell tickets via telephone and walk up window, handling high volumes of customer interaction while delivering exceptional service

Assistant Volunteer Coordinator – (4pm to ~11pm*)
The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator works as a member of the volunteer and house management team overseeing and motivating approximately 15-17 nightly volunteers.

Assistant House Manager – Evenings (3pm to ~11pm*)
The Assistant House Manager works closely with the House Manager and is responsible for crowd control, patron comfort, safety and security in and around the amphitheater and general appearance of the theater.  Must be able to lift and carry 30lbs and able to work and climb comfortably in deep sand.

Site Attendant – Evenings (3pm to ~11pm*)
The Site Attendant works outside at the venue before, during, and after performances to ensure the safety and comfort of the guests.  General responsibilities include preparation and cleaning of the amphitheater for each evening’s performance, assisting guests, and trash removal.  Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs and able to work and climb comfortably in deep sand.

Merchandise Coordinator – Evenings (4:30pm to ~10pm)
The Merchandise Coordinator works in the venue Merchandise Booth selling LTSF products to the general public, vendors, staff, and volunteers.  Nightly shifts run through intermission; shift end time is dependent on the performance run time.

Premium Seating Concierge – Evenings (4:30pm to 8pm)
The Premium Seating Concierge checks in and supervises seating of all premium and café table patrons, VIPs, and guests with special needs, responding to customer questions and seating upgrade requests in an informative and constructive manner.

Box Office Associate –Evenings (4pm to 8pm)
The Box Office Associate works as a member of the ticket sales / box office team to sell tickets via walk up window in the LTSF  Sand Harbor Box Office.  Accurately and efficiently sell tickets via telephone and walk up window while capturing patron data, handling high volumes of customer interaction while delivering exceptional service.
